Steps to the solar installation process.
Initial Assessment: Community Energy Preston will start with an initial “desktop” assessment of your roof’s potential for solar energy generation. This free, no-obligation assessment includes:
A potential PV layout showing the installed system size and generation output.
A financial analysis estimating on-site generation, savings from offsetting grid electricity, and a guide to the cost per unit of the solar power generated.
An estimate of surplus energy, including contributions to the community fund for reinvestment into new projects.
Roof Assessment Process
Preliminary Estimation-We use PVGIS data to estimate the possible generation capacity of the solar array. This provides an initial indication of potential output.
Client Review-The preliminary information is shared with you to assess feasibility. If you agree, a professional feasibility study will be conducted by an independent company, funded by Community Energy Preston. This study provides detailed installation costs and estimated income.
Funding-Community Energy Preston will raise the necessary funds for the installation, through a community share offer. Once funds are secured, installation dates will be confirmed with you.
Installation-The installation process begins, followed by electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning.
Maintenance and Support-Post-installation, Community Energy Preston, in collaboration with an independent local contractor, will handle all repairs and annual testing. This ensures a hassle-free process for you, allowing you to focus on your daily activities. Community Energy Preston manages all background work, including contractor arrangements and scheduling, ensuring a seamless experience for you.
