Second Lancashire Community Climate Action Forum 2024

LancsCAN are excited to invite you to the 2nd Lancashire Community Climate Action Forum (LCCAF) which will hosted by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston on Thursday 6th June 2024, from 9.00am to 5.00pm at the UCLan Engineering Innovation Building.

We will be bringing together the LancsCAN membership which currently comprises almost 200 people, alongside council representatives and business leaders from all over Lancashire.

This will be an opportunity for attendees to come together, highlight their climate action related projects, problem solve and share best practice. We will be running workshops guided by experts for the length of the event in the key climate action areas of energy, food, transport, and resources. Giving attendees the opportunity to see important large-scale projects being carried out in these areas, imparting that knowledge, and learning while also providing expertise to solve problems for attendees in these key areas.

The secondary focus of the event is to ask the question “what business can do for community groups” with the aim to help community groups grow the scale and scope of their projects with much-needed support. At the start of the event, there will be a Roundtable Discussion where community groups will have the opportunity to ask this question to key players. We also hope to partner businesses with community groups to increase the success rate of their projects, and provide a venue to share knowledge, share resources, funding, advice, and support.

We need radical action and rapid change to reach our climate action goals in a meaningful timescale, whether you are a volunteer, community group member, council or business representative all are welcome to the 2nd Lancashire Community Climate Action Forum and all are essential in the fight against climate change.
